Thursday/Sunday September 25th-28th: Bass Lake, CA: Pontiac/Oakland Western Regional Convention; Hosted by Pontiacs of Central California; The convention is open to all Pontiacs, Oaklands and GMC Trucks. Scheduled guest speakers include GTO legend Jim Wangers, famed automotive artist Art Fitzpatrick and Tri-power expert Rick Gonser. Activities will include “Wine & Cheese” boat tours around the lake, a car cruise around the lake with a free hot dog BBQ, a Friday night hosted “Hospitality on the Deck” which will include free hors d’oeuvres and free beer and wine. Saturday will feature a judged car show and an awards banquet in the evening. Show your Model A or T vehicle from stock, ratrod, kustom, hotrod, and racecar or woody, for 40 national awards, door prizes, fun, racing, and find rare and new parts. Grass Valley, CA: The Roamin Angels’ 9th Annual “Cruisin’ the Pines” Car Show; at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, Friday from noon 'til 9:30 p.m.; Saturday from 8:00 a.m ‘til 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. ‘til 3:00 p.m. Hosted by the Roamin Angels Car Club of Grass Valley, and open to 1972 and older American cars, with over 60 trophies to be awarded. The show will have numerous auto-related vendors, a Car Corral of special-interest cars for sale, an Artisans’ Faire, and a car art exhibit, as well as a variety of foods and drinks that include beer and wine. Thursday has a participant-only reception and Friday a participant-only B-B-Q dinner/dance. On Saturday, the kids can compete in a Hot Wheels gravity drag race and a pin striping contest. There will be live entertainment on Saturday night. Sunday will feature a poker run and the awards presentation. Entry fee is $40 for all three days, including two Friday dinner tickets.
